DO I NEED TO HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE IF I’M A MEMBER-PATIENT OF SEMPER HEALTHCARE?
Yes. Health insurance affords protection from catastrophic healthcare costs, and it’s often used to defray the (sometimes) egregious costs of various procedures and studies. We all need healthcare help at times—whether that's seeing a specialist, or being hospitalized, or having radiologic studies. We'll be involved with you at every step, but the medical consultation services that we offer are not a substitute health insurance.
CAN SEMPER ACCEPT PAYMENTS FROM HEALTHCARE SAVINGS ACCOUNTS?
Yes. Our services are HSA-eligible; they are also eligible for a multitude of other tax-favorable healthcare accounts. Of course, you should consult with your accountant or other tax professional should you have detailed questions about your particular situation.
WHAT TYPES OF HEALTH INSURANCE DO YOU TAKE?
None. The restrictions, mandates, and volume goals in today’s insurance environment do not fit easily into traditional insurance models. Your care matters more to us than an insurance bureaucrat’s opinion, and we will not be bound by their restrictions.
DOES MY HEALTH INSURANCE PAY FOR SEMPER HEALTHCARE’S FEES?
Probably not. Many insurance providers are open to reimbursing patients for episodic visits or to applying clinical costs to co-insurance or “out-of-pocket” maximums associated with various insurance products, and we’re happy to provide you with any clinical documentation associated with your care. Still, your costs and potential reimbursement are a contractual concern between you and your insurer.

Access, insight, and commitment presented in a refined and approachable manner is our ultimate goal. Beyond that, of course, you’ll have constant access to our physician, our website, and your electronic health records.
